2010 Peace Concert Taking on Increasing Significance

The 2010 PEACE CONCERT takes on greater significance on the eve of 2010 Carnival launch on Saturday 23 January.

The Grand Bay Peace Committee is expected to arrive at the Police Headquarters to leave at 7:45 am via the Carnival Route in Roseau to the Convent High School. Hon Justina Charles, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, is expected to hand over the Peace Torch to the Senior Cadet, who in turn will hand it to Mrs Josephine Dublin, Principal of Convent High School.

This will be followed by the blessing of the lighted Peach Torch, by Capt Fr. Franklyn Cuffy C.Ss.R., Director of the Dominica Social Justice & Peace Committee Inc. marking the beginning of the annual “World Respect Life Day” activities at the Convent High School.

This event will be carried live by all the media houses.

The Peace Torch will then be carried to St Joseph to be installed at the 2010 PEACE CONCERT.

Addresses will come from Hon Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, the Minister Counselor Mr. Francisco Anzola of Venezuela among others.

Andy Kentish, Wayne Dalrymple, Danarl Bedminister, Baby Mia, Nurse Carol Hypolyte Norris, and Wadico Bunch will be remembered by the Dominica National Youth Council..

There will also be Music, Poems, Dance, Arts, and some of the latest Calypsos
