Celebrating the Goodness in the Nature Isle
Two community activities organized by the Bellevue Chopin Village Council will form part of activities for the village feast this weekend.
Village council Chairman Cecil Shillingford says because of the short timeline between the recent Village Council inauguration and the dates for the Feast of St. Gerard, the village feast, the council decided that this year it would not organize anything elaborate but in an effort to bring the community together the council decided on two activities.
An indoor games night will be one of the activities on Saturday night, October 17 from 7 p.m. and a Sports afternoon on Sunday, October 18 from 2 p.m. are the activities planned.
The Patronal feast of St. Gerard Majella activities in the village of Bellevue Chopin begin tonight with a triduum until Friday night from 7:00 p.m. each night at the Bellevue Chopin Catholic Church.
A Solemn mass will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 11:00 a.m. at which members of the council will be in attendance.
The council is hopeful that villagers will come out in large numbers to participate in and support the games night, the sports afternoon and the church activities. It is also inviting neighbouring communities and all Dominicans to come to Bellevue Chopin to be part of the Feast of St. Gerard.
The Council is promising a big celebration for the Feast of St. Gerard 2010.
