Young man from Veille Case stabbed to death

A stabbing incident in Calibishie on Friday night has left one young man dead and two others in police custody.

Eighteen year old Julien Joseph Junior of Veille Casse sustained multiple stab wounds following an altercation with his assailant twenty-one year old Anderson François of Calibishie.

The incident occurred at about 8:30pm on Friday in Calibishie.

Junior who was rushed to the Marigot Hospital was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Kevin Williams.

Dominica Central has learnt that Francois along with another man, Garvin George were taken into custody at the Marigot Police Station for questioning in connection with the stabbing death of Junior.

This is the first recorded homicide for 2010.

Details about the stabbing are still sketchy but anonymous reports suggest that the altercation between Junior and Francois may have resulted from a dispute over a girlfriend.

Police are carrying out further investigations.
