A stabbing incident in Calibishie on Friday night has left one young man dead and two others in police custody.
Eighteen year old Julien Joseph Junior of Veille Casse sustained multiple stab wounds following an altercation with his assailant twenty-one year old Anderson François of Calibishie.
The incident occurred at about 8:30pm on Friday in Calibishie.
Junior who was rushed to the Marigot Hospital was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Kevin Williams.
Dominica Central has learnt that Francois along with another man, Garvin George were taken into custody at the Marigot Police Station for questioning in connection with the stabbing death of Junior.
This is the first recorded homicide for 2010.
Details about the stabbing are still sketchy but anonymous reports suggest that the altercation between Junior and Francois may have resulted from a dispute over a girlfriend.
Police are carrying out further investigations.

In the wake of the first recorded homicide for 2010, the Dominica Social Justice & Peace Committee Inc. will be joining a “WHITE PEACE MARCH” through the Village of Calibishie, carded for Wednesday, 10 February 2010.
The “PEACE TORCH” which was installed in St Joseph on January 22, during the 2010 PEACE CONCERT, is expected in Calibishie and will be a focus point of the Peace March. White T-Shrits bearing the Peace Torch will be worn by participants on this WHITE MARCH, as it is dubbed. The March will begin at 4;00 pm from the Calibishie Primary School. All concerned are invited to take a stand against violence.
