Former educator Cynthia Stephenson is the First Caribbean International Banks 2009 Unsung Hero

The Unsung Hero must be one who has demonstrated years of endurance, patience, tolerance and one who has significantly impacted the community.

The bank introduced its Unsung Heroes to Dominica in 2004

Stephenson was born in Goodhope on September 19th 1933. She moved to Sansouver with her mother at the age of six (6).

She was one of ten students to attended secondary school after successfully passing the Common Entrance Examinations

Meantime Country Manager Paul Frampton says Stephens has shown that there are few bonarriers that could not be overcome in the quest to be of service to her community

The 2009 FCIB Unsung Heroes says being a hero has its ups and downs.

Miss Stephens received a plaque and cheque of over seven thousand dollars.

She is expected to meet with other regional heroes in Barbados and is hoping to take home seven thousand US dollars among other prizes.
