The community spirit of Salisbury residents and hard work of the Salisbury Enhancement Committee (SEC) Inc. has been lauded by Parliamentary Representative and Opposition Leader Hector John.

His commendation came in the wake of a major village Cleanup and Beautification Project on August 21 organized by SEC.

“I was very impressed with the full participations of everyone, especially the youths, who demonstrated true community spirit that continues to define the people of Salisbury,” John said.

The project included weeding from the Salisbury highway to inside the village, removing debris and cleaning village drains, in addition to other odd jobs.

A wide cross section of the community from primary and high school students to the youth, young men ‘on the block’ and adults turned out for the day’s activity.

“I am hoping that the rest of Dominica will emulate the efforts of SEC, LIME and the people of Salisbury in order to keep our country clean and healthy,” John further stated.

The Salisbury Enhancement Committee expresses its gratitude to the following sponsors and supporters for contribution to the project:

LIME Dominica, First Baptist Church Salisbury, St Theresa Catholic Church, B & C Bakery – Gilbert and Delia Frederick, Matson’s Minimart, Ti – Prix – Mr. and Mrs. K Julien, Centopee’s Bar – H.
