Three Masked men Robbed Bulls Eye Pharmacy at Gunpoint

Propriety of the Bull Eye Pharmacy, Val Cuffy, says Dominicans need to take their country back from the hands of thugs and criminals and prevent it from down the road where the criminals are taking over.

Cuffy made the comments following the weekend robbery of his Bulls Eye Pharmacy on Federation Drive, Goodwill.

At about 7:00pm on Friday night, three masked men carrying firearms entered the pharmacy, held the employees at gunpoint and made off with an undisclosed sum of money. Fortunately, no one was injured. Employees however were taken to the Princess Margaret hospital for observation.

Police suspect the three men to have been involved in an attempted robbery at a gas station on Thursday night.

“What I have noticed in Dominica is a new wave of crime and people are using much more explosive weaponry than the police themselves may have. Twelve gauge shotguns should not be in the hands of criminals and thugs who are able to come into your business and take it over” Cuffy said.

Cuffy is calling on local business people to beef up their security and protect themselves and investments in light of what he denounced as an “assault on people’s investments.”

He said the police have their work caught out for them and called on members of the public to give as much support as is possible to them in their fight against crimes.

“The general public should come forward with whatever information they may have and do not harbour criminals. We need to take our country back; we cannot let it go down the road where the criminals are taking over” he said.

No arrest has yet been made the Friday night’s robbery of the Bulls Eye Pharmacy. Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
