The Faculty of Health Sciences of the Dominica State College (DSC) convenes its third Pinning Ceremony on Wednesday January 27, 2010 at the Arawak House of Culture from 5:00 pm. Seventy-four former nursing students who pursued the Associate Science Degree in Nursing Programme will receive the DSC nursing pin to be used with their nursing uniform indicating that they attended this prestigious educational institution. The College’s first pinning ceremony was held in 2008.
Among the persons to address this event will be the Minster for Education, Hon Peter St Jean who will deliver Congratulatory remarks and a prominent Dominican nurse, Mrs Hyacinth Thomas giving a motivational talk to the new graduates. Professor Gerald A.C Grell, MD, JP, SAH., Chairman of the DSC Board of Governors will give brief remarks.
This ceremony will mark the official transition of these young women from being student nurses to beginning practitioners of nursing.
