Dr. Ester Figueroa of Jamaica says unsustainable tourism development has negatively impacted the environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects of several Caribbean countries.
The award-winning documentary film writer is currently on island to premier her documentary film “Jamaica for sale” to the Dominican public. Dr. Figueroa says large scale developments are not beneficial to developing countries like Dominica.
Dr. Figueroa says several alternatives can be explored to further develop the country. “Jamaica for sale” will be shown at the University of the West Indies school of continuing studies in Elmshall at 6.00pm Monday evening.
