Spelling Bee Champion
Kareen George of the St Martin’s Primary School is the winner of this year’s Haliborange/ Rotaract Club Spelling Bee Competition.
George walked away with a brand new laptop computer, a desk top for her school, educational gifts worth 500 dollars, a year’s supply of Haliborange omega 3 and a trip to Antigua to participate in the regional finals.
“I didn’t really think I was going to win because I only studied last night and half of Wednesday I studied. It was hard for me because I went to church every night. I went on the internet and studied over five hundred words,” George said.
Meantime the School Principal Laurel Moreau says she is elated at George’s success.
Darlon Riviere of the St Mary’s Primary topped the second position while Lydia Ettiene of the Delices Primary School came in 3rd.
