UWP Dominica Leadership Team & Friends
On Sunday, the United Workers Party (UWP) told its supports at a grand rally in St.Joseph that it was ready to bring a new kind of politics to Dominica and outline twenty pledges “that would create real change in the lives of the people.”
Party leader Ron Green said that “Dominica needs politics without corruption, without lies…but with more jobs, more opportunities for our youth, more transparency and accountability.
Standing before thousands, each of the twenty candidates contesting the December 18th 2009 polls on the UWP ticket swore to uphold and fulfill their pledges. Candidates pledged

17. To fast track a salary review for public officers.

2 To keep green issues at the heart of our development effort
Affirming the pledges as “our contract with the people” green committed the UWP government to delivering each and every one of these pledges within twenty-four months of taking office.
“This is our covenant with the people. We will not let you down. We will not let our country down. Twenty pledges in twenty-four months, no excuses” he said.
Green assured party supports that a UWP government would “deliver a better future for our people and country.”
