General Secretary of the Dominica Public service Union Thomas Letang is calling for amendment to be made to the constitution of Dominica to allow the second largest political party, apart from the current administration, to be referred to by a different name other that the Opposition Party

Letang believes that while election draws near political parties should review the constitution and seek ways of presenting themselves to the people in ways that will bring benefit to the country and the electorate.

He says the time is right for a change in the constitution that was handed down to us by the United Kingdom government and political parties here need to make recommendations in that regard and tell the Dominican people of the changes they want made to the constitution.

He is recommending that Dominica adopt the US system
