Ron Green, Oposition Leader and Leader of the UWP
Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central constituency Norris Prevost said he wants to send a clear message to the Roosevelt Skerrit government that the people of Dominica are not for sale.
He told a public meeting in Lagoon on Monday night that it is time to put a stop to corruption and glorification of one man.
“We can clean up our country, build up our country and lift up all our people under a UWP government. If you look around the political scene, you will notice that all the betrayers are in one party and that is labour. Everyone is in the Labour Party and also you will notice that the only party that is buying and selling is Labour. They buy voters, candidate and elected par-reps,” he said.
Meantime UWP candidate for the Roseau North constituency Danny Lugay says a number of persons are questioning his reasons for entering the political arena.
But Lugay says his decision is based on a number of irregularities that is currently taking place within government that must be addressed
Former UWP Deputy Leader Julius Timothy left the party after a bitter contest for the leadership party. Timothy will be contesting the Roseau North constituency on a Dominica Labour Party ticket in 2010.
Meantime the recently announced UWP candidate for the Roseau South constituency Bobby Frederick has outlined reasons why he decided to team up with the opposition party.
Frederick told supporters at the public meeting in Lagoon last night, that UWP has plans to bring significant development to Dominica.
Frederick says a UWP government will take care of the water and infrastructure problems that plague the Roseau South constituency.

UWP all the way. You know i thought this was a DLP site, but now i know you guys going for some UWP action. "We want Our Money Back". Is time people like Arthie come full time with UWP, and everyone else. Listen UWP have big plans, Big Big plans we going to make it this election. But seriously that water problem is a major concern, and DLP will never do anything about it
