Senator Gloria Shillingford endorsed by the DLP Wesley Constituency Association to contest 2010 election

The Wesley Constituency Association branch of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) has adopted a resolution, declaring DLP Senator Gloria Shillingford as the candidate for the next general election constitutionally due in 2010.

Public Relations Officer of the Wesley Constituency Association Scribner Bazil said there are plans by another individual to divide the Laborites in Wesley.

He said the association met over the weekend and declared Shillingford as the candidate.

“These is this person that is going around saying that she wants to contest that seat for the DLP. The means to do that is through the constituency association. We would meet and decide who the suitable candidate is but that person has not gone through that,” he said.

“We would also like to ask all the people of Wesley to support her because it is time that we have some good representation there because we have been lacking for the past nine years,” according to him
