Hi Miss Coleman

Well, what I do is integrate them at times...for example when we have special services at my church, maybe a Revival series of services or maybe a special Sunday service then I incorporate the choir along with the praise team. I do that for 2 reasons. (1) First of all, I need that vocal ensemble ambience effect for Vocal power and solid harmony. Having a choir and praise team do praise and worship can creat that effect wonderfully and (2) Althoiugh a choir is usually used for special ministry like say...a solo...or special song.............it is always advisable to train the choir to be able to do a solid praise and worship and to learn all the P & W songs that are being done by the regular praise team. You never can tell when praise team members may be out of town or maybe they have other personal things going and are not able to make rehearsals or sing on a Sunday so you can always use individual choir members to chip in and be on the praise team if needs be for any particular Sunday or event going on at your church. The choir attends praise and worship rehearsals at my church because like I said, I need my choir members to not only thoroughly learn all the P & W songs that we are doing at my church but really and truly, a choir is part of the Music ministry of a local church and we know that the overall role of the music ministry is to usher the congregation through praise and worship into the presence of a HOLY and AWESOME GOD. And yes, there are times when my choir will have to prepare for special solo choir songs. What I do in such a case is plan waay in advance and schedule a separate choir rehearsal on a day in the week (at least 2 months before the event) so that the choir members can plan ahead of time and make arrangements to attend these rehearsals in preparation to sing the solo or solos.

Another IDEA that the Lord has given me is this. When there are 5 Sundays in the month, then the choir will join the praise team in doing praise and worship on that 5th Sunday so thye 5th Sunday is usually a GRAND PRAISE TEAM effort and the blend of voices and vocal power coupled with a GREATER anointing is always awesome.

You are right on point ! It's as if you were reading my mind. Question: Is your Praise Team also apart of the choir?
