Leader of the Opposition and the United Workers Party (UWP) Hon. Ron Green told a group of worshipers

Hon. Ron Green joins worshipers in offering prayers for the nation at the National Prayer Concert at the Newtown savannah
on Wednesday evening that unless God pilots and guides the nation and inspires its leaders, Dominica won’t make it.
Green made the statement while addressing the nation at a prayer concert at the Newtown Savannah organized by the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC) in observance of the fifth anniversary of the Dedication of Dominica to God. “Because God is the Lord” he said, “unless he pilots and guides the nation, guides its leaders, inspire them, guides Prime Minister Skerrit, inspires him, guides me and inspires me, we as a nation will be ineffective. We won’t make it. We won’t get the goodness we work so hard for.”
Mr. Green then joined the praying faithful and offered Psalm 23 in prayer on behalf of the nation’s leaders. He also prayed to God for “a path of righteousness for Dominica towards free and fair elections …for a path of righteousness for Dominica towards integrity in public office, and …for transparency in our leadership.”
In congratulating the DAEC for organizing the ecumenical service and prayer concert, the UWP leader said “I wish to commend the Evangelical Association for this initiative seeking unity through prayer, seeking transformation through prayer. Thank you for that.” He added “we all, all of us in authority need to be surrounded by prayer in a sustained manner, not just seasonally.”
Hon. Green reminded worshippers that Dominica was truly blessed. “We brothers and sisters have an abundant and God blessed land which we are eternally grateful for. So let us use this occasion of the risen Christ to seek the heights we are capable of so that we can fully ensure our assets and that our Dominica remains ours, and our people in the spirit of Easter realize their talent, their wisdom and their strength. “
Dominica was officially dedicated to the Lord on April 8th 2009 at a National Repentance and Dedication Service at the Botanic Gardens in Roseau. His Excellency, Dr. Nicholas J. O. Liverpool, President and Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister were both present at the ceremony
