19th century Portsmouth Catholic Church destroyd by November 2004 earthquake
The raising of the $2 million required to build a modern Roman Catholic Church in Portsmouth following the destruction of the 19th century structure by the earthquake of November 21, 2004, will receive a major boost soon with the arrival of a group of ten persons based in New York.
The group, who will be guests of the Portsmouth Catholic Church, comprises four (4) members of the Knights of Columbus and six(6) members of the New York- based Portsmouth Roman Catholic Church Rebuilding Committee headed by Dominican physician, Dr. Montgomery Douglas.
The purpose of their visit is to assess how they can assist in raising the money required to build a new church.
The group has been working in collaboration with the Portsmouth Parish for over a year and have targeting various agencies to assist in the rebuilding of the church.
The Group will join the Bishop of Roseau, His Lordship, Gabriel Malzaire and Parish Priest, Father Herman Sharplis at a Press Conference on Monday, November 16, 2009 from 11 a.m at the Bishop’s Office.
At the Press Conference the Group will provide more information on its fundraising efforts.

This is a great day! Really smart people are raising an insane amount of money to erect a building in which people can talk to the ceiling. As you all know, we need another ceiling to talk to much more than we need jobs, more stable water and power, more industry, etc. I am proud to see such funds being used to bring pedophilia to our corner of the world.
