Patricia Blaize, President of the Gospel Mission Ladies Fellowship
President of the Gospel Mission National Ladies Fellowship, Patricia Blaize, says the theme for this year’s Women’s Conference –Empowering Women to Grow in Grace and Knowledge-is timely in view of the current socio-economic challenges facing Dominica.
Blaize highlighted the global economic downturn and its impact on families, separation and divorce, an upsurge in crime and violence and a general decline in spirituality among the youth as major challenges facing families and the nation.
These challenges and the burdens that come with them she said, for the most part, are borne by the ladies who are wives, mothers and grandmothers.
Blaize exhorted the women that in times like these, they needed the grace, knowledge and wisdom of God to face the challenges and difficulties.
She expressed the hope that the conference would help equip and empower the ladies of the Gospel Mission Fellowship and women in general to face and overcome the challenges and in turn, be a blessing to their families, churches, communities and nation.
The Gospel Mission National Ladies Fellowship Women’s Conference is an offshoot of the mission’s annual Mountain Top Experience. The weekend conference commenced last night and will continue until Sunday.
Orementa Murphy of Antigua is the Featured Speaker.
